Huobi is one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. The exchange was originally operating out of China, but after the Chinese government introduced strict regulations towards the cryptocurrency ecosystem and banned the cryptocurrency exchanges in the country, Huobi moved its operations to Hong Kong.
Now, the company has announced its plans to open an office in the United States of America. During the Blockchain Connect conference at the end of January, Huobi revealed its plans to open an office in San Francisco. The conference was focused on the cooperation between the US and Chinese cryptocurrency markets and was held in San Francisco.
Huobi was one of the presenters at Blockchain Connect. The new office is already being built in the Silicon Valley. Huobi’s Chief Strategy Officer, Cai Kailong, said: “The US will be our focus from now on.”
Huobi Group was founded back in 2013 and is currently offering cryptocurrency exchange services in Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan and other countries. As we said earlier, the company was forced to abandon its operations in China in September last year, when the new regulation banned all the cryptocurrency exchanges.
In December last year, Huobi announced a partnership with the Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group. The Japanese giant is planning on launching its own cryptocurrency exchange with the help from Huobi.
