The man behind the bitcoin protocol, Satoshi Nakamoto, could be on the place number 239 on the list of the richest people in the world. He has almost six billion dollars in bitcoin and the price of bitcoin as already surpassed the value of 6000 dollars.
It is still unknown whether behind the alias Satoshi Nakamoto is one person or a group of people.
Sergio Demian Lerner, a blockchain security consultant, performed a research in 2013 and determined the existence of one million bitcoins from the block 0 until the block 9. These blocks were mined from the day one and they all belong to the same entity and have never been moved. This fuels the speculations that these blocks belong to Satoshi Nakamoto, which would make the owner of this alias very rich, with a value of six billion dollars, thanks to the recent rise in the price of bitcoin.
Some other rumors estimate the quantity of bitcoins Nakamoto has to be around 1.5 million bitcoins, which means his wealth would be nine billion dollars and bring Nakamoto up to the position number 140 on the Forbes list of the richest people in the world.
Thomas Lee, a known member of Wall Street, predicted the price of bitcoin would rise in 2022 to 25 thousand dollars. The same investor predicted in August the price of bitcoin would rise to six thousand dollars in 2018 and this already happened in 2017. This makes his new prediction of 25 thousand dollars in 2022 realistic.
If bitcoin reaches the price of 25 thousand dollars, the person or persons behind the alias Satoshi Nakamoto would have 25 billion dollars and go up to the 29th position of the Forbes list. If the other rumor about 1.5 million bitcoins was true, this means the value would be 37.5 billion dollars.
Probably the best thing for Satoshi Nakamoto would be to stay in anonymity, because if such a large amount falls in the hands of hackers, the bitcoin ecosystem would be strongly compromised.
